OP - I'm not to sure what your issue is, either. I will suggest that you do not run to Yak's, or anywhere just yet. Hang around Old Ascalon, do the local quests and level up some more. Then hit the missions.
Yes, play, rather than run through, the game. GL.

ressurection signet is a pleaseputmein there.
dont bother with the snare.
vamp touch is a nono,it puts you in melee range and lowers your survivability.
overall - you should consider getting [wiki]Spiteful Spirit[/wiki] and [wiki]arcane echo[/wiki]
they chain well, and then you can put stuff like this in your bar:[skill]parasitic bond[/skill]cover hex to protect SS
[skill]blood ritual[/skill]energy management to give to your monks there
[skill]awaken the blood[/skill] gogo +2 attribs to curses
[skill]enfeebling blood[/skill] nice damage reduction on enemies
[skill]insidious parasite[/skill]selfheal is nice.
[skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]ressurrecting spells are good for the party
you might not be able to access some of these skills so early, but a good idea is to make a pvp char, and farm zaishen for the skills(it unlocks them at ANY trader in pve if its in that campaign)
and the elite skill will have to substitute until you get to that point of the game
as for leveling up,do quests:P

You've already unlocked them, you now need to talk to a skill trainer (on the relevant continent) to learn those skills.

Also, you might not want to split your attributes in 4 ways. Pick a necro line and put most of your attributes into there and maybe one other and the rest into soul reaping.
Blood magic is the easiest to use and keeps you alive pretty good if your low lvl because of the health steal but minions can block for you so either of those work nicely. I would'nt suggest going curses yet becuase at that lvl I doubt you have any good ones anyways.

You're level 6; don't worry about it yet. Once you hit level 20, and collect your two 15-attribute-point quests, then it's time to start worrying about your build.
